Well, I must say that I sympathise with Chester. As such, I've already decided that I will not work as long as I can help it. Unless of course it'll pay for my degree, if I ever get a chance to pursue one. Something has gone wrong with the education system in Singapore, and it isn't totally the government's fault either. It's more of a vicious cycle, which I'm feeling too tired to explain. Maybe another time? Today's meeting was a fiasco and an utter waste of time. Correct me if I'm wrong, but we didn't get much done. There are a lot of things I would love to say, but I won't because it isn't going to change anything. That said, there are better things to do with your time than to spend it listening to people shouting "Listen!" and arguing about a stupid basketball/soccer tournament. It's not the be all and end all you know! Like, get a life... I borrowed a book today, Lady Chatterly's Lover. The reactions of people speak volumes. Eugene and Shaun were very surprised. Teck Tee was the only person who read the introduction though, in addition to the other more appealing passages. Terence just read those. I read the introduction, and haven't read those passages yet. There aren't that many anyway. D.H. Lawrence had very lofty ideas when he wrote this book, mainly about cleansing the public perception of sex. Ironic then, that this book was nearly banned for being obscene! |
